About Altitude Travelers

Altitude Travelers began in late 2013 with musicians and friends Chase O'dell, Shane Smith, & Jerry Cardon. However, the band did not get really serious or even have a name until a 4th of July party in 2014 where the trio played acoustic for everyone in attendance. After that the three began working very hard and eventually booked their 1st show. Just weeks before the show the band added Dan Herbert as their fourth member and new lead guitarist. Then, on May 30th, 2015 they performed their 1st show at Jam Camp in Parker, Colorado. After that show the band knew they had something special and began to work more on their original music as well as keeping covers in the mix. The band wanted to keep their momentum going so just 2 short months after that they hit the road for the 1st time ever. This road trip was for their 2nd ever live performance in Crook, Colorado. There, on July 25th, 2015 Altitude Travelers performed live at the annual Crook Fair alongside other fellow local musicians. This show marked a very high moment for the band however, it would lead to a low point and eventual dry spell. The following months of August, September, and October held very few practices and cancelled plans. This was due to the ongoing life obstacles that founding bass player Jerry Cardon was dealing with. On Halloween 2015 it was announced that the band would be parting ways with their founding bass player and moving on without him. Jerry was quickly replaced by Tim Cleary who brought a whole new element of experience and taste to the band. The three remaining members were eager to show off their new look with their new bass player, so just weeks after recruiting Tim they performed their 1st show together. This show happened at Bistro Al Vino in Centennial, Colorado on November 17th, 2015, and was the 1st show the band had ever headlined. Altitude Travelers kept this forward momentum going by booking its 1st double header at two of the biggest venues they had ever played. On Friday January 22nd, 2016 they performed live at The Toad Tavern in Littleton, Colorado. The very next day they had a follow up show at The Celtic House Pub in their hometown of Parker. On Saint Patrick's Day 2016 Altitude Travelers released their 1st ever demo "Live from The Toad Tavern" for free download via Soundcloud, as well as in CD format in limited quantity. Unfortunately, just before Saint Patrick's Day lead guitarist Dan Herbert unexpectedly had to move to Texas. The sudden loss of their lead guitarist led to another dry spell of activity for the band. They spent the next several months holding auditions for a new lead. Finally, towards the end of May auditions stopped, and the answer was found. In June it was announced that two new guitarists would be joining the band, and Altitude Traveler's was now a 5 piece. These two new members were JD Robinson on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Cameron Blair on lead guitar. The new line-up made their first public appearance at the 2016 Colorado Guitar & Custom Luthier Expo in their hometown of Parker, Colorado. Shortly after that the band returned to Bistro Al Vino for their 1st official performance as a 5 piece in August 2016. The boys then quickly kept moving by making their return to hometown music festival Jam Camp in September of 2016. Unfortunately, just a few short months after Jam Camp the band parted ways with founding member Chase O'Dell so he could focus on his personal life. JD Robinson took over as full time lead vocalist and the band moved on. 2017 marked the beginning of a new era for the band. Altitude Travelers played their first show with their new lead singer in January at the 20 Mile Tap House in Parker, Colorado. The band then continued on throughout the year by playing at venues such as the Silver Spur Saloon (Opening for Uncle Nasty), FuNuGyz, The Emerald Isle, The Hangover, The Gold Pan Saloon (Breckenridge, Colorado), The Venue, and more!!! The band was honored to be apart of the 2017 annual Parker Days Festival in their home town. In that time Altitude Travelers released their 2nd live demo entitled "L!VE". The band ended 2017 with a bang by playing a huge New Year's Eve show at 20 Mile Tap House. Now Altitude Travelers is working on making 2018 the BIGGEST year yet!!!
