About Lorenzo Gusinu

ELECTRIC GUITAR’S STUDIES
Lorenzo Gusinu was born on august 14th 1992 in Brescia (Italy).

When he was 15 he decided to begin to play electric guitar with passion and a great commitment since the beginning.

From February 2008 to June 2009 he had his first lessons with the private teacher Maurizio Viola.

From July 2009 he decided to undertake the professional way of guitar player enrolling in an intensive course of the Modern Music Institute in Brescia directed by the professor and director Francesco Fisogni with whom he's been studying for three years passing with great results the Basic Level exam, the Intermediate Level exam and the Advanced Level exam with specialization in rock metal.

From 2012 to 2016 he kept studying in San Giovanni Lupatoto (Verona) with the president of the Modern Music Institute Alex Stornello with whom he focused his studies in fusion.

SPECIAL LESSONS, MASTERCLASSES AND CLINICS
In 2010 he was one of the 12 italian students that took part in the “Rock Metal Guitar Masterclass” at the AMM in Modena, studying 6 hours per day for three days with Kiko Loureiro.

In 2012 he followed a private lesson with Tony MacAlpine at the MMI Verona.

In 2013 he followed a private lesson with Bryan Baker at the MMI Verona.

In 2014 the Modern Music Institute gave him the chance to follow a private lesson with Michael Angelo Batio during the Summer Shred-Camp 2014.
In this Camp he also followed some lessons with different MMI’s teachers: Andrea Martongelli, Francesco Fisogni, Mirco Dimitrio and Fabio Mosconi.

During these years he has joined many Clinics and Masterclasses: Dave Hill (in 2 different occasions, one of these as a traslator), Marty Friedman, Reb Beach, Uli Jon Roth, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Dave Martone, Guthrie Govan, Greg Howe, Marco Sfogli, Gus G., Tosin Abasi, Mattias Eklundh, Andy James, Ola Englund and others.

COMPLEMENTARY STUDIES
He has attended courses of home recording with Andrea Martongelli and Giorgio Terenziani in 2010, with Francesco Fisogni and Marco Fogliata in 2011.

From January 2013 to September 2014 he took lessons with Davide Rossi, the national coordinator of MMI’s Recording course.

From March 2013 until July 2014 he also attends the specialist course “Daniele Gottardo Guitar System” with the Maestro Daniele Gottardo at the location of the Modern Music Institute in Padova. After learning the news of the transfer of the M. Daniele Gottardo in Palo Alto (USA) that would take place a little later, he continued to take lessons from him online (MMI International).

TEACHING ELECTRIC GUITAR
In October 2012 he passed the exam for teaching and he began his career as a teacher at the MMI in Salò.

From August 2013 until September 2016 he was one of the teachers of MMI in Brescia.

He also taught in Bedizzole enabled by Modern Music Institute.

CONTESTS, LIVES
He joined some online video contests and in 2013 he was one of the 70 semifinalists of the “Mayones and Seymour Duncan Regius Competition” chosen by a jury of experts like Keith Merrow from all over the world.

In September 2013 he played his own composition during the 9th edition of the MAF Guitar Festival at Fiorano in Spezzano Castle during the "MMI Guitar Attack" with some of the best Italian musicians: Giuseppe Motta, Claudio Pietronik, Mike Pelillo, Andrea Martongelli, Vanny Tonon, Gianluca Ferro, Elia Garutti, Mirco Dimitrio, Simone Caputo Atzori and Marco Mazzuoccolo with Frank Gambale as a special guest.

In April 2015 he had the opportunity to jam with Paul Gilbert at Gasoline Road Bar in Brescia.

In September 2016 he had the opportunity to jam with Steve Vai at Cinema Teatro Astra in Verona.

In October 2016 he was one of the 10 semifinalists of the "Ibanez Flying Fingers Guitar Contest 2016" from Europe.

OTHER
In 2014 he got a University Degree (3 years) in Labour Consultant of Law in Brescia 110/110 with Honors discussing a Final Report on “Music Publishing Contract”.
