Author & Punisher

Hits like a car crush. Mean. Massive. Masterful. Marvelous. Magnificent. Obliterateing. Together with Bong-Ra, this is hands down the gig of the year.

Fucking heavy, I went for blood incantation so my first time listening to author & punisher was live. It was great in every sense. An incredible artist and the guitar tone was FILTHY, the low end was a something else, one day I wish to have that tone

Author & Punisher was absolutely amazing. So happy I finally got to see them live after years of being a fan.

Loud, brutal and unrelenting. And I was absolutely mesmerized by Tristan working his magic on the machinery.

The only two things I'd been told about Author & Punisher before hearing him live were, "If you liked the Quake soundtrack [I very much do] you'll be into this" and "He designs and builds his own instruments." These were enough to pique my interest greatly, but the reality blew the expectation out of the water, straight out of orbit. Towering soundscapes of dread, brutal beats like wardrums of the apocalypse, and tortuously distorted vocals — supported by an excellently-programmed light show and a guitarist playing with an air of primal ecstasy — created an experience of dystopian beauty: grim, grimy, and utterly breathtaking. This is everything I love about industrial music. I ended up listening to more of his music for the majority of my 1 1/2-hour drive home. I'm an instant fan. Will absolutely be on the lookout for future shows near me. Favorite track: f me, how can I choose, but "Terrorbird" has been stuck in my head last night. The engineering genius on display in how he achieves these sounds is just mind-boggling.

First time seeing Author & Punisher and this show was revolutionary. The venue was also great, great sound, amazing beer. The only complaint is more time. The time flew by and great times were had by all.

Mindblowing. Z and I were so thrilled to finally see him live after going crazy over his albums and his methods. "This machine kills fascists" \m/

Almost forgot about this one! Fuck! Uniform + the body, too...what a night. I've really seen some fantastic shows at Chop Suey.

Everything was grate. Acoustic could have been a little better.
