Black Dahlia

An experimental musician and performance artist, Black Dahlia blurs the boundaries between theatre, sound, and surreal spectacle. Her creations exist in dreamlike spaces where masks, characters, and worlds collide - flamboyant, avant-garde expressions that draw as much from performance art, mime, and surrealism as they do from music itself.

Black Dahlia has performed across Europe and Australia alongside Kirin J Callinan, John Maus, Cosey Mueller, and Enola, with appearances at SXSW Sydney, Metanoia Festival, Kalabalik På Tyrolen, and Dark Mofo. Black Dahlia featured on the “wonderfully explosive” (Guardian Australia) track by Rebel Yell ‘TNT’. She was also a co-composer for the soundtrack accompanying the short film by Sebastian Vaccaris ‘Let The Blind Lead Those Who Cannot See’ which featured on MUBI and was screened at various film festivals across USA, Australia, and South America including Fisura, International Festival of Experimental Film and Video (Mexico), Crossroads Festival 2023 (San Francisco), SORIGRIM Festival of Experimental Cinema (Seoul, South Korea), and Weekend Domain Experimental Image Festival (China).

Black Dahlia’s single ‘Bodyguard’ was presented with an ABC Rage’s ‘Wild One’ award, was later featured at SXSW Sydney 2024 Screen Festival and had radio coverage on KEXP, 2SER Radio, and FBI Radio. Her acclaimed debut concept album The Imposter (via her imprint School of Dahlia) unfolds like a surreal stage play with the lead single ‘On The Run’. Written, produced, and performed by Black Dahlia, she boldly stands alone as an enigmatic light. Nominated alongside Tame Impala for The Australian Music Prize 2026, it has also received press coverage and acclaim from various media outlets including a review alongside Gary Numan’s feature in Electronic Sounds Magazine: Issue 130.
