FALLASTER

[EN] Fallaster is a Post-Hardcore band founded in 2006. The name Fallaster has no real meaning. Some might find in it a connection to an anglophone neologism meaning the fall of an aster, others may be reminded of a flower that only grows in November, the roots of which are so strong that they’re eternal. Their first album, Everything is alright, came out the same year. The band successfully managed the release themselves, selling almost 1500 copies and receiving acclaim from media and public alike. Certain tracks were used in the soundtrack for the French tv series, Déja Vu, shown on the national channel FRANCE 2. Within a short space of time, the band found themselves touring live and playing support to renowned rock bands such as : Silverstein (CAN), Bullet for my Valentine (UK), We are the Ocean (UK), Pony pony Run Run (FR), Superbus (FR), The Ataris (USA) and more. In 2008, Fallaster return to the studios to record the Mystar EP, resulting in a collection of darker titles than in the previous album. The band continued touring until mid-2010, when they began writing a new album. Its conception was long and finely-tuned to produce songs that lived up to the bands ambitions. 2011 brings the recruitment of two new guitarists Antoine & Xavier following the departure of Nicolas. Their arrival announces a revitalizing and fresh outlook on the new album’s writing. Summer 2012 finds Fallaster in Montréal, Canada in order to work with the producer Luc Tellier and record their forthcoming album Disclosing. The recorded tunes sealed the directional changes made by the group in recent years, pushing the ambient and sometimes atmospheric aspect of their music even further. The group experimented and elaborated the construction of its titles while keeping the necessary flow and ease of listening of their music. In September 2012, Fallaster came back with a strong album, dark and powerful, the fruit of a long and a huge desire to develop a deep and compelling work. Disclosing will release on February 18th, 2013. [FR] Fallaster est un groupe de Post-Hardcore créé en 2006. Le nom du groupe n'a pas de signification réelle. Certains y verront un néologisme anglais qui signifie la chute d'un astre, d'autres se souviendront d'une fleur qui n'apparaît qu'en novembre, et dont les racines sont si robustes qu'elles sont éternelles. Leur premier album, Everything Is Alright, sorti la même année et dont le groupe gérera lui-même la sortie, recevra un bel accueil du public (1500 exemplaires vendus) et des médias, certains titres figureront même dans la bande son et le générique de la série tv Déjà Vu, diffusée sur France 2. Le groupe enchaînera ensuite les concerts, ouvrant notamment pour de grands noms de la scène rock tels que Silverstein (CAN), Bullet For My Valentine (UK), Superbus ou encore The Ataris (USA). En 2008, Fallaster retourne en studio pour enregistrer l'EP Mystar, proposant cette fois des titres plus sombres que dans leur premier opus. Les concerts s'enchaînent à nouveau, et mi 2010, le groupe entreprend la composition d'un nouvel album dont la conception sera longue et travaillée afin d'obtenir des morceaux à la hauteur de leur ambition. Courant 2011, deux nouveaux guitaristes, Xavier et Antoine, intègrent le projet suite au départ de Nicolas. Cela permet un regard nouveau sur les compositions en cours et à venir. A l'été 2012, Fallaster part enfin en studio à Montréal afin de travailler avec le producteur Luc Tellier. Les titres enregistrés scellent le virage pris par le groupe ces dernières années, poussant encore plus loin le coté ambiant et parfois atmosphérique des chansons. Le groupe expérimente et complexifie la construction de ses titres tout en essayant de garder la fluidité nécessaire à l'écoute. Fallaster attaque alors la rentrée 2012 fort d'un album qui leur ressemble, sombre et puissant, le fruit d'un long travail et d'une immense envie de concevoir une œuvre profonde et percutante.
