Fantastic harmonies by an incredible group of gorgeous ladies. My only complaint was people talking while they softly sung like angels. But then again when you sing music that moves you to the soul...it makes you want to talk and solve all the worlds problems. 💙

About Hidden Roots Collective

ANNIE SUMI Annie Sumi is a young, folk artist who falls into the hearts of her listeners. A free-spirited girl of the Earth, she gathers inspiration from life, love, and the endless wonders of the world. She is an aspiring Canadian musician that is continuously growing in the music industry - always keeping one foot on the ground. Beginning her journey in Whitby, Ontario, as a child mesmerized by the melodies of the piano and guitar, Annie began writing her own songs. Her album “Heart, Mind, Song” will be debuting in April 2015 in preparation for her summer tour circuit. Collaborating with the Hidden Roots Collective, Annie’s music reaches to empower the voices of women around the world, and celebrate the potential of human compassion. “If you keep reaching for stars… they’ll fall for you.” – Annie Sumi BRIGITTE LEBEL Brigitte Lebel is based in Northern Ontario with a new album that will be released in May 2015 (funded by the Ontario Arts Council). Her influences span from dark and melancholic Portishead to the light and airy Be Good Tanyas. But perhaps her most obvious infuences come from Joni Mitchell, Sarah Harmer and Feist. Brigitte recently released a single "The View" alongside a video, with shots from the Northern forests and waters from which she draws much of her inspiration. Outside of her reverence of nature, other common themes are centered around love, grounding, and focusing on what's right in front of us. HOLLY CUNNINGHAM Holly Cunningham became a northern girl in 2007, migrating her way up highway 11 from her hometown of Hamilton, ON. Settling in North Bay, Holly has further developed and explored her musical interests. Her laid back vocal stylings have been compared to the likes of Norah Jones, with her greatest inspirations pulling from the lady legends of vocal jazz. Infusing playful and airy folk sensibilities, Holly’s songs are immediately welcoming – an experience to savour and pore over. Best served with a fireplace and wine. ROSE ERIN-STOKES Rose-Erin Stokes music tells stories of love lost and silver linings. Her debut EP is full of vulnerable lyrics that give the listener a window into this songtress’ heart. Her melodies range from ethereal pop and playful soul, to toe tapping folk. Singer-songwriters Rose-Erin Stokes, Annie Sumi, Holly Cunningham, and Brigitte Lebel have joined forces to showcase their original music.
