Oonga

Oonga is the alter ego of globetrotting producer and DJ Eli Levinson. Since discovering a passion for sounds and rhythms from other places, he has been tirelessly exploring the music from different cultures while constantly producing music inspired from his journey. His explorations have brought him to festivals in Central America, raves in Australia, clubs in Malaysia, as well as working in the industry with contact event Mundial Montreal, and the label Stonetree Records.

His productions are built out of a desire to explore the unique rhythms and textures of global music cultures. Chopping up traditional drums, using recordings of rhythms whose origins go back generations, and mixing them into a contemporary soundscape of heavyweight bass tension and release, Oonga seeks to unite bass science with the thump of your heartbeat.
