FEATHERWEST
Initially borne of a serendipitous meeting between, now married, Iwona and Ryan during the 5am
police raid of illegal Soho club Helena Troys the band are a Glasgow based trio of Iwona Denton
(synth and vocals), Kev Dunne (drums) and Ryan Denton (guitar and synth). After pain, setbacks
and simply navigating family life, it is with a resolve and patience Featherwest set course to unveil
the fruits of hard work with a solid independant model prepped for an industry in flux with a debut
album a la one of Scotland's great producers Paul Savage (Mogwai, Delgados, King Creosote
etc.).
The Sound
Featherwest are a trio attempting the straddle between live band and electronic sounds with samplers,
synth, electronic, reverb guitar, live drums and Female/Male vocal interplay. Described as “eccentric indietronica meets wonky pop” and the band admit to attempting to make their “very own slightly odd
and off-centre sound combined with lyrics that romanticise on less comfortable areas of the
human condition... We kinda wish we lived in Twin Peaks.”

Featherwest highlights
include playing with LA's Mini Mansions (Queens of the Stone Age-
Micheal Shuman featuring Alex Turner of Arctic Monkeys). Featherwest headlined King Tuts Wah
Wah Hut with Baltimore's Sun Club. Not shy of a beer or two FW released single - A Baby Not Yet
on a brand new beer produced by Edinburgh events co. Decagram shortly followed by a
performance with The Japanese House.
Mid September the trio entered Chem19 studios with Mogwai producer Paul Savage to work on a
album sessions for september 2017 album launch. Featherwest headed to eastern Europe to
promote their sounds in collaboration with American run indie label Loose Wire Records.
Featherwest kicked off 2016 with Celtic Connections Dates alongside Rock Action record's De

Rosa and NYC's Frog followed by an invite from
tour followed.
Vampire Weekend's
