About Ramona Deflowered
Founding members Jess Bohn and Mathilda Rose Fenton began developing the idea of an all-female, all-inclusive rock and roll project in the fall of 2013 as a way of inspiring more women to become a part of the local music scene in St. Louis. The band was originally named Ramona Flowers as an homage to the character from the Scott Pilgrim comic book series that must face and do battle with her seven evil ex-boyfriends each time she enters into a new relationship. In winter of 2014, Elaine Gruener joined the group as drummer and the band changed its name from “Flowers” to “Deflowered” in order to portray the changes that had occurred within the group during its first year, including the loss of several original members. The group regularly collaborates with a growing list of local artists for live shows and events but will always keep empowering women and female musicians at the heart of their band’s mission. A rock and roll rebel girl band
