About Kirk Whipple Band

Kirk Whipple has become a well-known name around the San Angelo music scene and is expanding to other parts of Texas and Oklahoma. While he first appeared in local venues playing with Brushfire, he got his start in music from a much different source. “I started playing piano at age 6,” Whipple said. “I learned by watching my grandmother play gospel piano in church on Sundays while my grandfather led worship.” Whipple’s first stage experience comes performing in a praise and worship band. “I still hold those values dear to me to this day.” The music he writes comes from his personal every day experiences and things that have happened in his life - past and present. “I try to encourage people with the lyrics I write. I want to make a difference in people’s lives with my music.” His three current singles, “Postcards from San Angelo,” “Forever Is Way Too Long” and “New Man” have rapidly gained attention on iTunes and social media. Additionally, he’s played with Miles Williams, who had a Top 10 single on the Texas country music charts, a gig that has helped promote Whipple’s name and music. “My favorite saying and I live by it every day, is tattooed on my arm,” Whipple said. “’When words fail, music speaks.’” Singer/songwriter out of Lubbock , Texas
