Jaye Prime grew up on Detroit’s Westside steeped in the city’s entertainment industry — her mom singing in clubs around the city while her dad crafted late-night mixes for local radio and worked as a DJ at Chocolate City, one of Detroit’s oldest strip clubs. Pulling inspiration for her artistry from creative minds like The-Dream and Solange, Prime has created a very innovative and interesting lane for herself; A combination of sensual melodic elements while always maintaining an undeniable groove. Prime cut her teeth as a singer on Detroit’s underground hip-hop scene, adding an even heavier variant for the multi-faceted artist's style. Prime's creative contributions have been recognized on Billboard, REVOLT TV, BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio, Detroit Metro Times, Mass Appeal and more.
