It is a travesty that Obituary was not the headliner on the Metal Crushes All tour. My friend and I drove from Jacksonville and stayed in a hotel for 2 nights, just for Obituary! I had another friend who drove over 6 hours round trip for the Obituary set to be literally CHOPPED IN HALF. That would be funny if it wasn't true.
I guess whoever set this tour up is more interested in blowup dolls than the music. Without the production, Amon A-meh would be just MEH. Obituary came out and killed, and so did the other 2 bands. They didn't need any of that theatrical BS. They just played amazing Metal music.
Amon should have paid homage to these founders of Death Metal (including Canibal Corpse) and gave them the time they deserve and the fans wanted.
To the organizer, please stop breathing my air.

The five stars is for the phenomenal performance Obituary gave. Whoever programmed the show gets zero stars. These epic legendary gods of Death Metal were only allowed to perform 5 songs. What a sad shame. I drove 6 hours to see them perform. It was beyond me how they weren't headlining and I expected a shorter set but 15 minutes is an insult. Don Tardy's blast beats along with Mr Asheim from Deicide are the best in the genre. To not allow them a 45 min set is insulting to us fans as well as the band. I was so disappointed. I had two other friends who drove the same 6 hour trip the night before and got a hotel room just to see Obituary and they were just as disappointed. Whoever is managing this tour needs to get their shit together. Obituary deserves more stage time.

John Tardy!!! Chopping mofos in half since 1984!! These guys sound the same as every. Best show ever!! They’re always on point and the sound is always bone chilling. The pit and crowd surfing are as absolutely insane. Barely made it out alive but worth every minute of it.

About Obituary
Obituary is one of the pioneering bands of the death metal genre. The band came from Tampa, Florida, and was founded as Xecutioner in 1985. In 1988, shortly before the release of its first album "Slowly We Rot", they changed their name to Obituary. It still remains an influential band of the Florida death metal movement that arose in the late 1980s. The 1990 release "Cause of Death" has been described as a seminal album in the genre, and vocalist John Tardy is recognized as one of the first vocalists to use an abnormally low growl (compared to the screechy growls used by predecessors Death and Possessed).
Obituary is listed by Nielsen Soundscan as the fifth best-selling death metal band of all time and its albums have sold 368,184 copies. Its 1992 release "The End Complete" has also more than 103,378 copies in the United States alone.
After 1997's "Back from the Dead" album, the band had grown tired of touring which led to the band disbanding. During the hiatus, Donald Tardy played in Andrew W.K.'s touring band (during W.K.'s appearance on Saturday Night Live Tardy wore an Obituary shirt). Allen West focused on his two projects, Lowbrow and Six Feet Under while not playing in Obituary. Trevor Peres formed Catastrophic in 2001. The band reformed in 2003 and Catastrophic continued to exist alongside the reformed Obituary. Catastrophic released one album, The Cleansing, in 2001. Obituary's reunion album, "Frozen in Time", was released in 2005. The band's first live DVD, "Frozen Alive", was released in January of 2007.
Obituary is currently signed with Candlelight Records for its seventh album "Xecutioner's Return", which was released on August 28, 2007.
Obituary's guitarist, Allen West, was recently imprisoned for DUI (driving under the influence of alcohol) and released in January 2008. During his incarceration, Ralph Santolla served as West's replacement. It is uncertain at this time whether or not West will be returning to the band.
