About Steven Blane
Steven's newest album, entitled "So New York," is scheduled for release in Sept. 2018 and is a collection of original songs about the city he loves so much.
The Steven Blane Band's recent album is entitled "Motel Blue." It features Nashville recording artist Rachel Horter on vocals and Ross Holmes on Fiddle.
Prior to that album Steven has released four other albums. "I Confess" was produced by White Heart core member Billy Smiley and recorded in Nashville, and his Lake Worth, Florida recorded-in-a-shed album, "The Shed Sessions" received excellent reviews and airplay on Radio Stations across the country.
As a young boy in Jersey City, his grandma stood him on a table at a Knights of Pythias Talent Show. Singing “Delilah,” Tom Jones style, in front of a supportive audience left a profound effect on Steven. Years later, when college was over, he plotted his escape to NYC. Once there, he was cast in a Broadway Show as a guitar playing gypsy. (He still has his Actor's Equity and SAG cards :-)
He lived on 8th Street in the Village in NYC and played gigs at bars. He wrote an Off-Off Broadway Rock Opera and had one of his songs performed on the original "Star Search." Steven decided to ply his trade as a singer-songwriter in Nashville. So he loaded up his blue VW bug (which was missing pieces of it's floor) and headed down the road from NYC. 100 miles later he turned around, struggled as an artist for a few more years, then married the love of his life and became an audio-book producer.
Steven writes and performs in the Rock-Americana-Country-Pop-Jazz genres and his songs and lyrics reflect his musings on relationships, faith, love and fantasy. Steven plays guitar, piano and ukulele and performs as a solo artist or with The Steven Blane Band. He is also a Cantor and a Rabbi.
