About The Calling of Levi

It’s somewhat of an underlying dream that every young musician has; to form a band with his best friends and to tour the world. The Calling of Levi has in many ways brought this dream to life. This rock band from Perth, Western Australia is striving to add their name to a list of successful bands that have previously exploded onto the scene from WA, including the likes of Gyroscope and Eskimo Joe. From the humble beginnings of a highschool band, The Calling of Levi has been making waves across Australia. In just a few short years the band has clocked up some 35,000kms of touring across Australia. It should come as no surprise that now after countless shows, festivals and months of living out of a van, that The Calling of Levi have attracted the attention of fans across the nation. Beyond the shores of Australia, the band has toured to New Zealand’s premier event ‘Parachute Music Festival’ and has also accompanied Grammy nominated artists ‘Switchfoot’ on their Singapore Tour in April 2011. Having shared the stage with Switchfoot (USA), Relient K (USA), POD (USA), Silverstein (CAN), Superchick (USA), Rapture Ruckus (NZ), Ivoryline (USA), New Empire, Antiskeptic and many more, The Calling of Levi has well and truly cemented themselves as a quality live act. Their second album ‘Movement’ is set to pave the way to what will be a very exciting future. ‘Movement’ is a perfectly balanced rollercoaster ride taking the listener on a journey of emotional highs and lows. Drawing from influences including Coldplay, Switchfoot, Anberlin and Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Calling of Levi has created an album that is captivating listeners everywhere. In it’s first week of release the album debuted at Number 22 on the official iTunes Rock Charts. ‘I Believe in Us’ was the first single released from the album. After climbing the top 200 on the iTunes single charts, the track was placed on rotation in stations across Australia. It also reached Number 5 in Australia’s Hot 25 Countdown. In a few short years The Calling of Levi have released two albums, have toured extensively and have shared the stage with some impressive acts. The guys have certainly shown that they are not afraid of paying their dues and working hard. Front man Callum explains, “The thing I love about music is that it’s not for a specific group of people. It’s a powerful language that can unify, inspire and speak to people where sometimes nothing else can. We feel incredibly privileged to share our music and what we have to say with our fans and it means so much to us that our fans can relate to it and us. In a way, we want our album ‘Movement’ to be a movement. We want it to be something that people can take hold of, listen to and hopefully feel apart of it”. The Calling of Levi is striding into an exciting future and taking their fans with them for the ride. Their new album Movement is available now on iTunes! www.thecallingoflevi.com FOLLOW US ON TWITTER @TCOLMUSIC for tour updates!
