Gretchen is always amazing! She has one of the most powerful and evocative voices in music today and the concert was fabulous.
However…..shame on the parents who thought it was in any way acceptable to let - in fact encourage - their ~4 year old to run the length of the floor level stage over & over & over again to leap into Daddy arms, squealing! There was a nearly empty lobby immediately behind the venue that would have done for such monkey business. Home would have been better yet! Such bad manners that takes into consideration NO ONE else’s comfort or enjoyment seems to be a hallmark of this particular generation of parents. Have they never heard of babysitters?
Gretchen and the fantastic band made for a lovely evening despite the nuisance family.

Wow! What a talent. The venue was perfect. Her voice and enthusiasm were over-the-top! She has a wonderful range and controlled volume that highlights her talent. She gave some background to the songs she sang, so some of the audience could better appreciate the lyrics and melodies. What a treat to happen across the performance only hearing about it two weeks before Tthe night of entertainment. I look forward to more of these impromptu shows and the talent The Ritz has attracted. Mahalo nui for the opportunity!

Overall the show was very good. Gretchen only sang 3 songs, which was very disapointing.

About Gretchen Rhodes
American singer/songwriter Gretchen Rhodes has been a long fan favorite - and it’s easy to see why. Rhodes’ unique, soulful blend of blues and rock always gets audiences on their feet, singing, dancing and joining in the fun. Rhodes has collaborated on stage with an impressive list of music industry heavies, including funk genius George Clinton, rock icon Steven Tyler and Doobie Brother Pat Simmons, as well as recording, performance, and music video appearances with Kenny Chesney in his ‘Life on a Rock’ album and ‘Wild Child’ music video.
Always looking for directions to grow musically, Gretchen has a side electronica project with the Embassy of Joy. Embassy of Joy produced the track "Addiction" (a remake of Jane’s Addiction’s “Jane Says”) which was the #1 Deep House track in the world for three months.
Currently, Rhodes is touring with Rock N’ Roll Hall of Famer and founding member of Traffic, Dave Mason along with one of the founder of ‘The Blues Brothers’ , Booker T and the Mg’s and Rolling
Stone’s 39th greatest guitar player of all time, Steve Cropper. When not touring, Rhodes fronts Mick Fleetwood’s Band with the legendary Fleetwood Mac drummer.
