Salt Lake City Melbourne based band ~ since August 2010. In 2013 the band took on a new edge, once a 10 piece explosion now a stripped back quintet. The ensemble continues to feature the humble acoustic-driven simplistic-songs supported by intricate-flute-melodies, funking-guitar-licks, grooving-bass-lines, and tight back-beats. Having succesfully completed a mini-Melbourne-four-show-tour this April the band will be embarking on a five week residency for Thursday's in May @ The Sporting Club in Brunswick. Before that happens a small hiatus to the countryside (Hiawatha) is in order to gather the arrangements together this month. The band will soon be recording their first ever 12 song Album (to be released in 2015). ~~ Early BIO Initially starting out in Bakehouse Studios, Richmond with Cellist, Double Bassist, Pianist and a backing vocalist to die for. Salt Lake City's first ever 6 songs was recorded at Studio 52 in Collingwood releasing their sell out EP Launch "One Step Off The ground" @ The Evelyn in JAN 6 2011. The band evolved and grew from a 5 piece ensemble to a 10 piece explosion in no time and the dreamy pop vibe was replaced with a big band style show with catchy horn lines, screaming guitar solos and intricate flute melodies. During this time in 2012 the band went on their first ever "Make Famine History Tour" upon returning to Melbourne having achieved what no other 10 piece band could have conquered in that amount of time. Consistently playing one show a week around town to get to Sydneys most renowned music venue The Vanguard ~ Newtown, Lizotte's ~ Deewhy and made it as far as the Port Macquarie Hotel.
