About Carlos Foggin Music
Carlos Foggin (FRCCO, BMus, ARCT) is a an award-winning keyboardist, conductor, and recording artist with over 20 major scholarships, and prizes to his credit. He has been involved in a number of major recording projects, including two solo albums available on iTunes.
Notable European solo performances venues include concert halls and Cathedrals in Germany, Spain, France, Canada, USA, and the British Isles He has performed groups varying from Monastic choirs to the Royal Scots Guard Band of Buckingham Palace.
He is Organist & Choirmaster at St. Dennis Church in Calgary where he directs the auditioned SATB Choir, the Sinfonia, and the Children's Choir.
An versatile and accomplished Organist, Carlos was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Canadian College of Organists in 2016. As a result he was the recipient of 3 awards: the Willan Scholarship, the Doreen Porter Prize, and the Heather Spry Prize for the top marks nationwide on each portion of
the FRCCO exam. In previous years (2013 & 2008), he was awarded scholarships for the top marks in each portion of the Associateship and Colleague-level exams, as well.
In 2016 (Calgary's "year of music"), he founded the Rocky Mountain Symphony Orchestra, a semi-professional ensemble based in Calgary, AB. The mandate of the RMSO is to play high-quality orchestral music in small towns and unique venues, for a diverse audience of music lovers who could not otherwise have the opportunity to experience live orchestral music.
Additionally, he is the Music Director of the Calgary Community Orchestra (2015). He also works closely with Cowtown Opera as a Collaborator and Music Director
Mr. Foggin is a graduate of the University of Calgary, taking a multidisciplinary degree in Organ Performance and Conducting under Dr. Neil Cockburn and Gareth Jones. While studying at the University of Calgary, he was appointed the Assistant Conductor of the Wind Ensemble, a unique student position created especially for him.
