Absolutely love her voice, she's a great singer/songwriter! Immediately bought her album after her part of the show was over (she opened for Ryan Adams & the Cardinals...another fantastic show!). Her voice is "old school country" to me and her music is catchy and emotive, well-written. I'm hoping she makes it as big as she would like to! The audience at the Florida Theater really loved her as well, which isn't always the case for opening acts- but Ryan Adams knew what he was doing when he invited her along!

About Ruby Force
Ruby Force, the musical brainchild of Erin McLaughlin, captures her personal journey of self-discovery...marked by a maturity and ease in tone, lyrics that elicit confidence in the midst of questions, and a flirty playfulness that melts hearts. All this - with an invitation to listen and engage in her twisted tales of life and love, lost and gained.
Evolutionary War is Ruby Force's debut ten-song record. It transports a listener through McLaughlin’s own experiences – from her upbringing in the yellow-hued fields of the Southwest, through the dank, fluoresced streets of urban metropolises, and across a myriad of international seas. Enlisting the collaboration of musical luminaries such as Elijah Thomson (Father John Misty,Everest, Delta Spirit,), Richard Swift (The Archs, The Black Keys, The Shins, Foxygen), Frank Lenz (Pedro The Lion, Damien Jurado) and Sean Watkins (Nickel Creek), McLaughlin keeps good company on the sojourn as these creative partners inject a wealth of heart, brains and guts into her already soul-wrenching compositions.
‘After the first pass through Evolutionary War, it is clear that we are witnessing only the emergence of an exciting new artist, as the songs weave through a host of familiar musical genres creating an exciting hybrid of past, present and future. If this independently produced release is any indication, the future is glittered with Ruby Force.’ - Eli Thomson
