About Prāta Vētra
Prāta Vētra (BrainStorm in Latvian) is currently the most successful Latvian rock/pop band.
The band was formed in 1989 in Jelgava, Latvia and it consists of Renārs Kaupers (vocals), Jānis Jubalts (guitar), Māris Mihelsons (keyboard), and Kaspars Roga (drums).
The fifth member, Gundars Mauševics or Mumiņš (bass), died in a car accident on May 24, 2004.
Since 1989 the staff of the band hasn't changed and isn't planned to change either.
Prāta vētra was the first Latvian contestant to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest, coming 3rd place overall in 2000 ESC held in Sweden, with the song My Star.
