About Nighon

Nighon was formed in 2008, in Pietarsaari, Finland. The sound is a blend of extreme metal and symphonic movie music, that appeals to a wide group of people, ranging from fans of Dimmu Borgir, Rammstein, all the way to Amaranthe. Nighon released its first album 'Cor Oblivionis' in 2014 on Univocal Records, and their first music video 'Ex Tenebris Lux' the same year. The band has performed with bands like myGRAIN, Magenta Harvest, Finntroll, Kill The Kong and Arkentype. Nighon has now released their second album 'The Somme' through Inverse Records, worldwide. The album is a concept album with stories from World War I, World War II and the similarities between those and the crises we see today in our world. The album is supposed to be heard in it’s entirety non-stop. The brand new single “The Greatest of Catastrophes” is a blend of the outbreak of World War I and the Ukraine crisis. The music video was filmed on the Gulf of Bothnia and at a secret undisclosed military facility by Kasper Dalkarl, David Viklund and Stephanie Blomqvist. The album was recorded at Soundspiral Audio by Juho Räihä (Before The Dawn, Wolfheart, Swallow The Sun) and Nighon's studio Regiment XIII. It is produced by Nighon and Mathias Lillmåns (Finntroll, Magenta Harvest). The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Soilwork etc.) and Henrik Udd, at the legendary Studio Fredman in Gothenburg Sweden. Official Nighon facebook-page.
