The Wheaty was a perfect intimate venue for this- really felt up close and personal to the band. Great little local pub, great staff, great vibe. The show was amazing- such beautiful performances from the artists. Greg Arnold looked sincerely happy to be on the road playing to his fans. No pretentions, just beautiful music. The support band was great too (Junior), very much enjoyed when they all got on the stage with TOSAW towards end of show. Just a bunch of beautiful artists doing what they love and allowing us to be a part of it. I took my 20-something son, as I am on a mission to introduce him to the great Aussie older stuff- he very much enjoyed the show. And Greg was very gracious allowing me to take a photo of my son with him. Wonderful show, it is a memory to cherish. Definitely recommend seeing TOSAW if you get the chance.

Good musicianship, fabulous harmonies as always. This band deserves more adulation than they get these days.

Fantastic venue and a Fantastic performance by the trio. It was great to see Greg at the funky piano even if he wasn't wearing a cape or tails!

About Things of Stone and Wood

Thirty years ago a rag-tag bunch of folkies got together and formed a band called Things of Stone and Wood that went on to define Melbourne in the early 90s..

Off the back of their top 10 single ‘Happy Birthday Helen’, the band achieved national success, international tours, a gold album ‘The Yearning’ and even a Late Show parody, kicking off a career that would place them as one of Australia’s most loved Folk- Rock bands.

Described as “Melbourne’s most inspired and inspiring acoustic band” (Michael Dwyer), their imaginative use of organic instruments set off an acoustic/folk movement that paved the way for the likes of John Butler, The Waifs and Angus & Julia Stone.

Their live show has always been full of energy and passion and whilst they’ve won many an industry award, including an ARIA and APRA Songwriter of the Year for Greg Arnold, it’s on stage that they demonstrate why they are so loved.
