About Vanessa Silberman

Vanessa Silberman is a Recording Artist, Singer, Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist and Record Producer from
Brooklyn, NY (via Los Angeles, CA). She also runs an Artist Development Record Label called A Diamond Heart Production (est. in 2013)
and is part of the alternative pop duo Lovecolor with actor / musician Ryan Carnes. 

Vanessa’s solo music has drawn comparisons from everyone from Nirvana, The Breeders and Patti Smith to
Lana Del Ray with more recent correlation to artists like Metric, Sylvan Esso and St. Vincent.

In March 2024, Silberman released her single ’Halo’ as well as an acoustic version of the song in July, both in which she wrote, recorded, produced, mixed & mastered.

As a solo artist between 2020-2021 Silberman has released 8 singles and prior to 2020 toured extensively playing
and booking over 800 shows (between 2015-2020) across the U.S. as well as in the UK and Europe in support of multiple releases.
Silberman most recently has been featured by The New York Weekly, The Woman’s Journal, Earmilk.com, The Rodney Bingenheimer Show on SiriusXM,
charted #33 in the top 40 of the Friday Morning Quarterback. She has also played at Vans Warped Tour, SXSW, Today at Apple, iHeart Radio, and
opened up for acts such as Alkaline Trio, R.Ring (featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders), Selector Dub Narcotic (Calvin Johnson founder of K Records).

In June 2021 Alternative Press Magazine named Vanessa and her label 1 of 11 LGBTQIA+ AND
WOMEN-OWNED LABELS THAT ARE CHANGING THE MUSIC INDUSTRY.

Widely known for having a very strong DIY ethic and extensive music background as well as wearing many
different hats in the music business —Some of Vanessa’s biggest music business career highlights range from working for heavy
hitter's such as Producer and Songwriter Dr.Luke (Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney Spears) and companies such as
Epitaph Records.

In the studio, Silberman has engineered for everyone from Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T Rex), Kimbra,
Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) to Harper Simon and worked as the in-house assistant engineer at
Studio 606 (the Foo Fighters Studio) in Los Angeles, CA, where she trained on the 8028 Sound City Neve and
assisted for everyone from The Foo Fighters, Joan Jett to Blue Traveler and James Williamson (of Iggy Pop and the Stooges) .

Vanessa has also hosted, moderated and spoken at numerous panels and events about the music business and touring including an
Artist Series with Today at Apple, School of Rock, Soundgirls, Girlsrock and Girl Power! Music Conference.

Additionally, for over a decade, Silberman also led a Los Angeles alt rock band called Diamonds Under Fire that toured as well as opened up for bands such as Meg Myers, Dead Sara, LP and received accolades such as being featured on 4 Vans off the Wall compilations, and by outlets such as NPR and Guitar Player Magazine (cover call-out).
