About Joyce Lee

Joyce Lee
Joyce Lee is more than a singer-songwriter — she's a testament to resilience, passion, and the relentless pursuit of authenticity. From her early days singing in church choirs and mastering classical piano, her musical journey took a bold turn at 16 when she discovered rock 'n' roll. Despite skepticism and a lack of support from friends and family, her determination led her to Los Angeles, where she spent years perfecting her craft, driven by the belief that music was her calling.
But Joyce's story isn't just one of musical ambition — it's a story of unwavering strength in the face of adversity. A devastating bilateral arm injury left her unable to play an instrument for several years, forcing her to confront the unthinkable. She refused to be silenced. After a rigorous rehabilitation, Joyce turned to livestreaming in January 2020, reconnecting with her music and her fans on Twitch. What began as a comeback became a community: together, they've raised over $50,000 for mental health nonprofits.
"Be true to yourself. LOVE yourself. Everything else is just background noise."
Then life tested her again. Since 2021, Joyce has lived with chronic illness — and has kept writing, performing, and showing up anyway. That lived experience fuels her advocacy: on stage and on stream, she speaks openly to build awareness and understanding for marginalized communities, especially those living with invisible disabilities. Her compassion is just as powerful as her music.
Now she's back with her most ambitious project yet: her third studio album — post-emo alternative rock blending haunting melodies, poetic lyricism, and radical honesty. The album features INVISIBLE, winner of "Best Song" at the 2025 Songwriters At Play Song Contest, angsty rock favorite STARTING OVER, and the heartfelt ballad NOT YOUR HERO, shedding light on PTSD and mental health.
At the core of it all is her voice — a mesmerizing, expressive instrument that cuts through the noise. If you haven't experienced Joyce Lee yet, now is the time. The journey is just beginning — join her on it.
