About Light The Fire
Light The Fire are a Dallas based melodic hardcore band whose years of hard touring have seen them break into Billboard charts and garner millions of streams. Formed in 2011, the band has released a pair of EP’s independently followed by three albums on Standby Records. Each effort did better than the last and was accompanied by a dizzying array of tour dates. As the touring cycle wrapped up for 2019’s Compassion In Unlikely Places the band started to shift gears and evolve from metalcore into a more melodic hardcore derived approach. Their sound began to reflect the influences of contemporaries like Counterparts and Knocked Loose.
This assault crystallized on their upcoming five song EP, Death Won’t Be The End Of Me. The record was recorded by CJ Cochran of Outline In Color and Caleb Connaway of Church Street Studios. Meanwhile it was mixed and mastered by Saosin’s Beau Burchell. It reflected a return to what the members love most: passion and energy. Embracing a more melodic hardcore sound has allowed the band to take on a much bolder new vision, one that they think will resonate more deeply with fans across the world. Two standalone singles, “Barriers” and “Defeatist,” are scheduled to be released prior to the Death EP representing the band’s new sound and is starting to turn heads. All the more so because Mike Perez of hardcore legends No Bragging Rights chose to lend his voice to “Defeatist.”
This all marks a significant step forward for the band. After hitting #49 on the Billboard New Artist’s chart, they realized they wanted to take things to a whole new level. They say "Our new song ‘Barriers’ is more than just a song for the guys in LTF. It's a reflection of our core belief system and ethos: the acceptance and lifting up of others that have been marginalized in any way, with the goal of true acceptance and equality for all and letting people know they are all important and deserving of love and empathy no matter what." With this bold new vision, Light The Fire seek to take on the world. Will you join them?
