About The Falcons

There were two bands named The Falcons.

1. The Falcons were an R&B vocal group from Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Formed in 1956, the band included many artists who have become synonymous with soul music.

The group comprised of:
Eddie Floyd (b. 25th June 1935, Montgornery, Alabama, U.S.A.),
Wilson Pickett (b. 18th March 1941, Prattville, Alabama, U.S.A.),
Joe Stubbs (b. Joe Stubbles d. 5th February 1998), brother of the Four Tops' Levi Stubbs and later a member of the Contours and then the Originals,
Mack Rice, the original singer of 'Mustang Sally',
and guitarists Lance Finnie and Robert Ward.

2. The Falcons were also a norwegian rock band from the mid-60's. "Piggtråd" (Barb Wire) is probably their most known song. They were a part of the beat rock wave in Norway and was as most bands in Norway those days looked upon as semi-copies of legendary bands as The Beatles, The Animals, The Kinks and Rolling Stones.
