GAIA MESIAH (OFFICIAL)

Gaia Mesiah concerts feature not only hardcore riffs but also Latino, country, punk rock, blues, funk, nu–metal, and even reggae. They characterize their sound as 'cross genre melting pot'.
Founding members drummer Misha Cortéz and guitarist Santa Morella discovered a similar language in 1998 and began an ongoing songwriting partnership that continues today with Gaia Mesiah. Morella and Cortez collided, finding a shared passion for music as a journey and as a pure and unspoilt means of expression. Sourcing out the right elements to complete the energy of Gaia Mesiah, In 2001 they found Marka Rybin, a talented and passionate singer who gave voice to Gaia Mesiah.
The band debuted at Prague club Futurum on the 12th of December 2001 and their fan base has grown ever since.
Together they have started a phenomenon described by critics as ‘lively, independent, furious, radical, explosive,’ etc.
Their debut album `Gaia Mesiah' was self–released in 2003 and was actually the band’s first demo. Gaia Mesiah began lighting fires all across the Czech Republic.
In winter 2005 the band signed with Universal Music and in cooperation with producer George Erice they released in May of the same year the album 'Ocean'. The promotional video of the single 'Maňana' was directed by Vladimir Michálek, director of the critically acclaimed film 'Bored in Brno'.
The latest album 'Alpha Female' (2007) is the result of intensive and incredibly rewarding cooperation with famous producer, composer and front man of the legendary Killing Joke, Jaz Coleman.

The band has made a quantum leap since their debut and has entered a new dimension.

In 2008 the singer Marka Rybin followed by bass-player Josh Stewart decided to end their activities with Gaia Mesiah. The indomitable formation of rock amazons closes one phase of their history by releasing live record “Thank You Dr. Beat” (2008).

On March 22.nd 2009 the band announces resumption of activity and reveals the name of new vocalist. It is Viktor Dyk. As a new member of the band is soon introduced bass-player Jiri Tille, known from the band Kurtizány z 25. Avenue.

And the name of the band? Perhaps it means Earth The Messiah, perhaps Messiah of Earth …. The meaning of the name as well as the lyrics are up to the listener.
One very important point – Gaia Mesiah is not a savior of anything or anybody.
