About La Frontera Victoriana
Catchy rock riffs in the disguise of Jules Verne's characters - this is the unique mixture that goes by the name of La Frontera Victoriana. The four thoroughbred musicians from Kiel, Germany, combine their classic rock roots with modern elements and manage to capture the audience with their stunning steampunk-show from the very first minute.
If nothing else, this is taken care of by the unbridled energy of La Frontera Victoriana's frontman Marko, whose often German texts stay on the melodic side of the musical spectrum all the time, but "are never reminiscent of the the usual suspects" when talking about German rock music, as Walter Scheurer (metal.de) points out.
Creepolis is the name of the newest album (published on December 15th, 2012) which invites the listener to a phantastic journey onboard an airship which is steered safely through one musical hurricane after the other. Borrowings from Fritz Langs monumental movie Metropolis and George Orwells 1984 can be discovered alongside critical evaluations of the modern society.
As La Frontera Victoriana understands itself mainly as a hard working live band, it was mandatory for Creepolis to be recorded almost entirely in a studio live environment. The connection between musical foundation and lyrics is of highest importance to the band: "More often than not I find the lyrics right within the riffs and hooklines, making it possible for me to get them out of this raw structure like a sculptor would do", states singer Marko.
Putting these serious aspects aside, La Frontera Victoriana deems fun and entertainment as important parts in everyone's life. This strong believe continuosly leads them to new developments within the band and also creates a spark of ecstasy that easily finds it ways into the audience.
