About Written in Gray

Written In Gray started in 2013 in what most would call the middle of nowhere, Westfield, NC. Through many complicated lineup changes and disputes, The current lineup (Lawrence, Jonus, Angus, and Brooks) was solidified in mid-2015. Starting their discograpghy with a 4-song demo titled " The One Has Risen" around the same time, Written In Gray took the NC metal scene by storm. Opening for National acts suck as Arch Enemy. Born Of Osiris, Goatwhore, and John 5 & The Creatures, they definitely were making their presence known. The first offical release by the band was their "Sea Of Embers" EP in May of 2017. Originally intended as a full-length LP, was trimmed down due to the bands dislike of some of the songs. The band is currently in the final stages of the writing process for their first full-length, and will enter the studio in the late summer, hoping for a winter release. We make music for people who sit on their TV and watch the couch.
