Juan Castelazo is a project born from the necessity of telling transcendental, real and consistent stories. Guitarist, writer and producer Juan Castelazo was supported by ¨Los Romanticos de Zacatecas¨ to perform Godspeed, which was written over a period of four years. The project was recorded in the studio ¨La Bodega¨ by Andrés Azpiri, in a garage in Coapa Mexico DF in 2014. The 11 songs that conform the first album, dig into topics like love, broken hearts, life and death, with the intention of communicating a deep and powerful story, that will mark the spirit of his audience. His visual and literary approach, provide clear references to a sober and bare state, to emphasize the fundamental needs of the human existence. Godspeed is the expression that was used in the old west as a farewell before a long journey, it is also a compound word, that separated God-Speed, gives meaning to something which has the velocity of a God. Being a project 100% in English, Juan Castelazo seeks to break boundaries and take his music around the world, with the eagle and snake printed on his chest. Godspeed most representative influences include The Cure, The Smiths, Johnny Cash, The Ramones, Soda Stereo. The sounds that harmonize Godspeed were generated by real instruments, mainly strings and percussion, to give a sense of organic reality.
