L.A.S.E.R.

ENGLISH: L.A.S.E.R. is an anglo-italian duo formed in Northern Italy during late 2006. The official acronym for their name stands for “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation”, but no one really knows if that's the real meaning behind it: it's a mystery that only time will solve. Their productions are heavily sample based and the use of distortions and effects manages to deliver a characteristic sound that can only be described as a flashy electro-rock meltin' pot. Their journey started as a bedroom project influenced by their own musical tastes: rap meets rock with a funky twist and a pop overtone, all sapiently driven by 4/4 heavy beats. Undoubtedly and deeply “French Touched” by legends such as Daft Punk, their research in the realms of sound continues to this day, always trying to renew themselves and push the musical boundaries of today's music a little further. Coming from different backgrounds, this eclectic duo combines love for the crowd with an egotistical and very personal choice of sound and modus operandi: their focus is in the music, always. Their effort in delivering a powerful yet original 'sonic attack' during their sets is omnipresent, like the “in your face” basslines or mind-bending synths that very often depict their tracks. They are not trend setters nor are they hipsters, they're just two kids with a passion and a kinky style that might just happen to, due to some bizarre fluctuation in the space-time continuum, blow you away. ITALIANO: L.A.S.E.R. è un duo anglo-italiano formatosi nel Nord Italia durante il tardo 2006. L'acronimo ufficiale del loro nome sta a significare “Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation” (ovvero Amplificazione di Luce tramite Emissione Stimolata di Radiazione), anche se nessuno conosce realmente quello attribuitogli dal gruppo: è un mistero che solo il tempo saprà svelare. Le loro produzioni sono pesantemente sample-based e l'utilizzo di distorsioni ed effetti si condensa in un suono caratteristico che può essere descritto solamente come un crogiuolo stroboscopico di electro-rock. Il loro percorso inizia come un progetto da cameretta influenzato dai loro stessi gusti musicali: un blend di rap e rock con tocco funk e feel pop, il tutto sapientemente guidato da impellenti beat in 4/4. La loro ricerca musicale, senza ombra di dubbio influenzata da leggende della musica elettronica quali i Daft Punk, continua tutt'ora e sfocia nella costante voglia di rinnovarsi e di infrangere le numerose barriere musicali che caratterizzano la musica odierna. Proveniendo da background diversi, i L.A.S.E.R. riescono a miscelare il loro amore per la folla con un approccio decisamente personale ed a tratti 'egoistico': il loro focus è nella musica, sempre e comunque. Il loro impegno nello sferrare un vero e proprio 'attacco sonoro' ad ogni set è onnipresente, un po' come i bassi aggressivi ed i synth pulsanti che molto spesso caratterizzano i loro pezzi. Non sono dei modaioli e tantomeno degli hipsters, sono solo due ragazzi con una passione ed uno stile particolare che potrebbe, per qualche bizzarra fluttuazione spazio-temporale, mandarvi fuori di testa. http://laser-music.com
