An Elegy

Young and eager, equipped with their instruments and a goal. 4 piece metalcore outfit AN ELEGY are ready to take the UK by storm and are certainly one to keep an eye on. Made up of five friends across Coventry and Birmingham and their love of all things heavy. The band have spent their time behind closed doors perfecting their craft and in turn have put their own stamp on their interpretation of the fusion of the metal and hardcore genre. Formed in 2014, AN ELEGY are Sam Appleyard - vocals, Suraj Mann - guitar, Adam Walker - bass and Kieran Shaw - guitar . The quartet came together after previous bands had disbanded for one reason or another, which lead to a fresh start with the foundations of the group being build on their like minded attitudes and passion for music – and the rest is history. Having complete determination to experience new cultures as well as perform and skateboard in as many places in the world as possible... AN ELEGY are a band which are prepared to work their asses off to make their dream a reality. AN ELEGY formed around a consensus of family and all share the idea that this journey is only worth it if it can be done together. 3 members live together, which has definitely shown that this is a band that will have no trouble seeing each others beautiful faces day in and day out. After spending over a year locked away at their rehearsal room situated in Birmingham city centre, extensively writing and recording their debut release 'Embrace The Rain' The band are ready to unveil their master piece, which will be but a glimpse of what is to come from this AN ELEGY. Through a genuine passion for live music, which will be seen through the intensity of their shows, which has come from the bands genuine support of the music they love. From all the sets they attend to get that vibe spanning not only from this scene, but all the diverse genres the band enjoy; i.e techno DJ's, Grime artists etc... this band have shaped their live set through all the artists they have witnessed before them. AN ELEGY draw inspiration from bands from their youthful days such as Slipknot and Linkin Park to the unexpected styled of Grime and acoustic, and of course the many bands they look up to today like Fit For A King, Architects etc. The band sound like a cross between Bury Tomorrow if they drop tuned their guitars two notes and Emmure if they were more technica, combining heavy down tuned chug guitars accompanied by vocal hooks left right and centre.
