About Jay Riley Music
Born in the Midlands, Jay studied contemporary music at Dartington College of Arts; specialising in Jazz and composition and graduating in 2001 with a BA (hons) in Music and Arts Management. Immediately after graduation he was invited to play tenor saxophone in The Dr Teeth Big Band and was signed to Big Bear records. Over the years he has toured the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Norway and Chicago as well as recording 2 albums for Dr Teeth, an E.P. of original music from my own Jazz Rock ensemble OiGoi and various session recordings
As an educator Jay has worked as a peripatetic teacher for Warwickshire County and as a tutor for an independent music school but has also been invited to present workshops for schools nationally and in the States. Jay was also selected for a music education exchange in Lviv, Ukraine
Working on Alto and Tenor Saxophone and Piano, Jay continues to tour the UK and will be playing at London 2012 Olympics
