About I.R.E.

Combining a reggae foundation with decades of music tradition and tastes, I.R.E. evokes shades of 70s groove (Pink Floyd), 90s energy (Red Hot Chili Peppers & No Doubt), and 00s cultural appeal (311). With this diverse catalogue, their heart-felt lyrics, tasteful instrumentation, and untamed energy make for a versatility rare in bands today. I.R.E. isn't simply a studio band or just another live band. They bring it on all fronts.

Core members Amy Middleton, Troy Richmond, and Daniel Taylor have been carrying the band from the beginning. I.R.E. got their start in the reggae scene. They established themselves as rock-reggae mainstays across the Southeast by playing at festivals such as Camp Reggae and Irie Vibes Music Festival, to name a few. Even at today’s I.R.E. shows, tracks from their debut album Touch It (2012) still trigger breakout sing-alongs from a diverse and devoted crowd, old and new alike.

In 2014, I.R.E. began working on their second album, and thoughtfully began crafting the concept behind it. They wanted to keep the originality that they began with, while also expanding their message to a more personally / socially-conscious message. Seeking new talent to bring this vision to life, sit-in bassist Trent Gilson became a permanent member, along with newcomers Michael Crowe (Keyboards), Tim Fash (Saxophone) and Kyle Watkins (Drums). 2015 brought significant exposure supporting such major acts as The Wailers, Lee “Scratch” Perry, The Dirty Heads, and Sticky Fingers; including performances at Atlanta’s newest premiere venue Terminal West, (capacity 650) and a sold-out Heaven stage at The Masquerade (capacity 1,000).

I.R.E.’s second album Turn On, featuring guest appearances by Eric “Benny” Bloom (Lettuce) and Evan Oberla (O.A.R.), is currently in post-production at Fractal Sound Studios in Lilburn, GA. Fractal has produced albums for Les Racquet, Universal Sigh, and Funk You.
