About Cauda Pavonis
Forged in the heartlands of the UK at the end of the 20th century, CAUDA PAVONIS are an impressive tour de force of 18th century style and 21st century technology all wrapped up in anthemic and driving music. A unique mix of influences brought together to form a band that has endured. Infamous for their Darkwave Buccaneer imagery and theatrical performances.
2023 sees CAUDA PAVONIS celebrating 25 years, of recording, releasing and gigging their unique sound. Often described as Deathrock and Darkwave, the bands own approach to post punk, gothic rock has seen them play both headline and support appearances at UK and German festivals, including 'WGT', 'Whitby Gothic Weekend', 'Gothic Pogo Party', 'Spider's Web Festival', 'The Asylum Steampunk Weekend', 'Glastonbury Occult Conference', 'WItchfest Wales'' and 'A Splendid Day Out', to name a few. They have gigged extensively as both headline and support across the UK. Their support slots have seen them appear several times with the likes of Toyah, Inkubus Sukkubus, Aureleo Voltaire, Gene Loves Jezebel and The Cruxshadows but also include slots with Simon Hinkler (The Mission), Abney Park, Department S, The Birthday Massacre, The Eden House, Chameleons Vox, Claytown Troupe, NFD (Ex-Fields of the Nephilim), Professor Elemental, Killing Miranda and Midnight Configuration.
Across 20 years Cauda Pavonis have successfully self released 6 albums, 5 EP's and singles and 4 download only anthology releases of their earlier work remastered. To top this they have appeared on 45 compilations and cover discs and have made 2 UK TV appearances with one of those (ITV's Magick Eve) being a programe about the Gothic Subculture in which CAUDA PAVONIS were the main focus.
The band is made up of original members Su and Dave Wainwright with bassist Steve Gibbons and guitarist Jon Gould.
