About Ageless Oblivion
Formed in the suburbs of Hampshire in 2010, Ageless Oblivion are a 21st century death metal band with a penchant for atmosphere, experimentation and belligerence. Having released their debut record "Temples of Transcendent Evolution" through Siege of Amida Records in 2011 to significant critical acclaim (Dom Lawson described the band as being "the actual future of metal", Kerrang claimed the band "beat Decapitated at their own technical game”) the band went on to make waves in the UK underground, touring with the likes of Aeon, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Conan and Dyscarnate thus beginning to build on an ever-growing cult following which bridges the notoriously tedious sub-genre divide among extreme music fans. Their latest offering "Penthos" was recorded in 2013 by Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studios and subsequently released in 2014 by Siege of Amida / Century Media records. The record builds on the foundations set by their debut but builds unequivocally in magnitude and ambition. Penthos was released, once again, to hugely positive press by the likes of Terrorizer, Metal Hammer, Kerrang and Big Cheese magazine to name but a few. To tour the record, AO ventured for the first time into mainland Europe as main support for Gorgoroth and Vital Remains, unleashing their unique brand of extreme metal to new shores. Subsequent UK tours with home-grown talent such as Bast, Chapters and Abhorrent Decimation further solidified their place in the UK metal scene, resulting in a triumphant performance at the 2015 Bloodstock Festival on the Sophie Lancaster stage. 2015 ended with an extensive UK tour with New Zealand heavyweights Ulcerate and Seattle Doom band Bell Witch. The perfect tour for a band who aspire to bridge the gap between the primal belligerence of traditional Death Metal and the sweeping soundscapes of Doom and Post Metal. 2016 sees the band, with a new line-up begin the process of writing their third record, promising to build significantly on their foundations and to deliver yet more emotive, experimental and primarily dark music to anyone willing to hear it. Eclectic UK Death Metal. Sophomore album 'Penthos' out now on CD and Digital Download through Siege Of Amida / Century Media Records.
