Marco Lo Russo aka Rouge is among the Italian musicians of new generations who stands out for some very original features that make him a representative artist of the developed and updated guidelines in the musical culture of our time. His music extends into a vast spectrum from the classical to contemporary repertoire and the Argentinian tango, running through jazz and electronic contaminations.

His rich music background turned him into an extraordinary performer, accordionist, composer, arranger, producer, conductor, musicologist and professor. Thanks to his compositions, he is listed on the Italian Yearbook of Cinema under the category - best musicians.

Marco Lo Russo has composed music for soloists, singer, theatrical performances, live video performances, short films, and also played original compositions for radios and television channels such as: Rai, Rai International, TV2000 and Mediaset (Endemol).

His original compositions have been edited and published by Barvin, ConcertOne, DNA, Itacalibrei, Magnetic Records, Molto Records, Nuova Peker, Polskie Nagrania, Rai Trade, Rhino, RTI, Smoothnotes, Universal, Universo and Warner Chappell Music.

His music is eclectic with mediterranean and contemporary sounds. During the years, Marco lo Russo has received great critic approvals from: Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Leo Brouwer, as well as from actors and directors like Piera Degli Esposti, Pupi Avati, Giorgio Albertazzi and many others.

Marco Lo Russo has been working for several years with Nicola Piovani who is an Oscar winner for the soundtrack of the film Life is Beautiful by Roberto Benigni as long as many other artists of international renown.

Marco Lo Russo has performed as a soloist in World Vision for the Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francesco. He also has performed in one of the most prestigious international theaters, festivals, international Jazz Club such as BluNote, Jazz foundation of America, and different international cultural events worldwide. Among the most significant are: soloist at the Rome National Opera Theatre, Radio Rai, Radio Vaticana, and many other international radio and TV station. TV: Rai2, Italia Rai, Rai International, Sky TV, La Bibbia Giorno e notte – Rai EDU in World Vision, and Al Centro della vita – Rai1 at the XXV National Eucharistic Congress and many other international TV channels in USA, Canada, Cuba, France, Kosovo, Mexico, Switzerland and many others.

Marco Lo Russo has been also composer, musician and artistic director for music programs for broadcast worldwide such as I Promessi sposi d’Italia on RAI History and RAI International channels, than 200 TV episodes in the program 42.12 Mediterraneo d’Europa for TV2000 as for numerous cultural events.

In result of his international career, Marco Lo Russo has received numerous awards and appreciations. To mention just a few of them: the Special Prize Award cultures Albatros 2012, Award IMAGE 2011 Latina city, Orpheus Award recording 2011, 2010, 2009, Prize OPERA IMAIE 2009, Award Sonora 2007 and Prize ETI 2005.

Currently, Marco Lo Russo also dedicates himself to teaching. He is a tutor of post graduated courses in the State Conservatory in Italy and as he leads private classes as well.
