About Bevlove

Bevlove is an ex-church girl with a wild streak, born and raised in Detroit, MI. One of her former bosses told her that she was a girl who saw the world as rainbows and unicorns. Incidentally, her first high school crush told her the same exact thing.

When the twenty-something year old singer and songwriter released her first single, “Do What I Say,” it quickly became an anthem for the city’s underground scene.

She has been on bills with the likes of Lizzo, Danity Kane, Eryn Allen Kane, and Azealia Banks. She made history in 2018 as the first R&B act on Detroit’s Movement Festival, famous for celebrating Techno music. A revolutionary and integral leader of Detroit’s music scene, Bevlove initiated a paradigm shift in black representation at The Metro Times with her cover story, “Why Bevlove Was Born to be a Star.”

Her last project, “Letters,” was released to a sold out crowd at Smplfd, the popular street fashion haus. “Letters,” is an intimate invitation to her passion for love. In a world where people are afraid of love, Bevlove rushes into it often getting, “Carried Away.” “Letters” strips away the tough bravado of Do What I Say with very vulnerable tracks like “Flora & Fauna” where she describes a whirlwind romance clouded by drugs and lust and exclaims at the end “just meet me halfway, my love could heal anything”. In the tradition of Motown, Bevlove uses catchy melodies and lyrics to spread the message of love and hope.
