Homeless Shakespeare

Homeless Shakespeare started as a solo acoustic act in 2014, writing original songs in various styles, predominantly blues and folk. As the songwriting became more frequent the styles broadened.
Gigging across Leicester city, and in 2015 moving into the Leicestershire area with festivals and acoustic afternoons. The live performances are often theatrical and interactive in experience, with a naturally entertaining character taking over.
The first album (all studio releases are self produced/recorded) was released in July, with 2015 featuring various other releases including an in-a-day improvised EP, an electronic EP and a single.
During 2016, the artist development reached the point that Homeless Shakespeare could cater and tailor sets for any gigs he was performing at. Alongside the tailored sets, the control he gained over the comedic ramblings and live commentary of the performance multiplied the entertainment value of the live shows. Regarded as 'deconstruction Joe' by audience members after displaying an ability to de-construct the situation a performer puts themselves in. With a 'piratey-punk rock' set and a 'gyp-hop and swing-stomp' set readily arranged, the rest is a breeze with easily adaptable and widely appreciated tunes.

Backing bands have been set up and used in previous gigs, and Homeless Shakespeare often invites improvisation into his set, with other musicians at gigs spontaneously jumping on stage and taking up an instrument.
Homeless Shakespeare has also played as a live musician with rapper Loaneski, singer songwriter Carol Leeming and various other musical artists in Leicester.
