Handsome Distraction

Originally formed in 2009, Handsome Distraction weathered many member changes before finally stabilizing in 2012. With the release of "Fight or Flight," the band embarked on its first tour across Canada in a 1960's hardshell camper towed by a minivan. After a month on the road making contacts and winning the hearts of dozens, they returned home to start work on a new EP. After finalizing the mixing and mastering with Adam Sutherland at Infiniti Studios in early 2013, the band released "A Mighty Roar." By this time the band had started to make a name for itself and having recently played invited showcases at Canadian Music Week in Toronto, the guys eagerly embarked on A Mighty Tour of BC and Alberta. Immediately following this September/October tour, the band had to get over to Toronto to play more festival showcases at Indie Week, but not before flying over to New York City for yet more showcases at the CBGB Music Festival and then taking a bus back up to Canada for A Mini Tour of Ontario. HD returned home exhausted and dirty, but not empty handed. Their hard work got them noticed by an Editor at Canadian Musician Magazine who had a feature written about Handsome Distraction for the Show Case section of the September/October 2013 Edition. On top of this, the guys were receiving accolades left and right from both critics and fans alike. In November, Handsome Distraction played a sold out show at Sugar Nightclub with newcomers Ellice Blackout, generating a lot of hype for both bands. It seemed like HD was destined to make it big, that nothing could stop them from going all the way...but then, like a burning sun, the band imploded and vanished, banished to eternal silence. Now, the stars have realigned and the beast has been woken from its year long slumber to usher in a new age. An age of reform with even more Handsome and less Distraction.
