Gioumourtzina

During the last year the duo of Gioumourtzina became known by word of mouth initially at their base, Thessaloniki, and then on the internet and in the rest of Greece, thanks to the song "Russian Market", their impressive gigs and their strange name (which is a paraphrase of the name of greek city Komotini in Turkish). This spring will see the release of their first album titled "Blakk Metall". "Blakk Metall" is a mainly electronic DIY project, which touches different genres thanks to the variety of music influences of Anestis Neiros (synth, vocals) and John Tselikas (electric bass). The album is dominated by melodies with influences from the 80s, modern beats and shoegaze soundscapes. The heretic title Blakk Metall was chosen to express with humor the band’s opposition against the music industry and social establishment and their refusal to compromise and to be categorized under a certain music genre. "Blakk Metall" is out on vinyl+cd and digital album from Inner Ear Records. Release date: 22 April 2016 * * * Τον τελευταίο χρόνο οι Gioumourtzina έγιναν γνωστοί από στόμα σε στόμα αρχικά στην Θεσσαλονίκη, που είναι η έδρα τους και στη συνέχεια στο διαδίκτυο και στην υπόλοιπη Ελλάδα, χάρη στο κομμάτι “Russian Market”, τα εντυπωσιακά live τους και το περίεργο όνομά τους (που είναι μια παράφραση της Κομοτηνής στα τούρκικα). Αυτή την άνοιξη κυκλοφορεί το πρώτο τους album με τίτλο “Blakk Metall”. To “Blakk Metall” είναι ένα κυρίως ηλεκτρονικό DIY project, που αγγίζει διαφορετικά μουσικά είδη χάρη στην ποικιλία των ακουσμάτων του Ανέστη Νείρου (synth, φωνή) και του Γιάννη Τσελίκα (ηλεκτρικό μπάσο). Κυριαρχούν οι μελωδίες με επιρροή από 80s, τα σύγχρονα beat και τα shoegaze ηχοτοπία. Ο αιρετικός τίτλος Blakk Metall επιλέχθηκε για να εκφράσει με χιούμορ την αντίθεσή τους απέναντι στο μουσικό και κοινωνικό κατεστημένο, αλλά και την άρνησή τους να υιοθετήσουν ταμπέλες, να συμβιβαστούν και να μπουν σε μουσικά καλούπια. Το "Blakk Metall" κυκλοφόρησε στις 22/4/2016 και διατίθεται σε βινύλιο+cd και digital album από την Inner Ear Records.
