Canebreakers

Canebreakers is five-piece band from Lake Charles, Louisiana. An engineer, a filmmaker, a student of medicine, an educator, and a full-time musician; we come together to forge these songs.While performing infrequently, we have devoted the past couple of years primarily to songwriting. These songs are the product of years of writing and re-writing, sculpting and shaving music and lyrics alike until they became Frame and Floor, our debut album. From roots rock to Cajun; alt-country to folk, these songs are deeply rooted in the culture of our home; though we hope that they are more than emulation. We aim to carry these traditions forward. Our hope is that these songs are new branches of our musical roots. Spread across the state of Louisiana, we continue writing for the sake of the song. We continue to perform and hope to be afforded the opportunity to record the next batch of songs within the relatively near future.
