About Bleed The Hunger

Bleed The Hunger – Brand new melodic hard rockin’ klassik rock band from Neil Turbin (DeathRiders, x-Anthrax) - Vocals and Jonas Hornqvist (Treasure Land) - Guitar http://soundcloud.com/bleed-the-hunger Bleed The Hunger was formed in early 2014 when two friends Jonas Hornqvist and Neil Turbin both songwriters and musicians who have been collaborating and writing together for ten years. Jonas and Neil started writing some dynamic new songs that didn't quite fit into the mold of Jonas' progressive metal band Treasure Land or the speed and power that would fit into DeathRiders. After just completing his third master guitar instruction book http://www.melbay.com/Products/30405BCD/soloing-techniques-for-electric-guitar.aspx and a movie soundtrack for a independent film, Jonas sent some rough song sketches and demos, more started coming when Neil heard them was very inspired and said to Jonas this is super melodic hard rock. Let's record them all. The musical chemistry is strong between the two and is always fun, exciting and challenging what new even better song we will come up with next. Staying true within the realm of what we do best. We are completing more songs as we speak for an album and have already have recorded enough for an EP. What we have is inspired melodic Klassik Hard Rock that comes from our hard rockin' roots. Jonas grew up listening to bands like KISS, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Gary Moore and Neil grew up going to NYC hard rock concerts in 1980 with Vendetta, Mayday, Starz, Twisted Sister, Riot as well as listening in the 1970’s to Free, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Motorhead, KISS, Scorpions, UFO, Led Zeppelin, Bad Company, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Montrose, Boston, Kansas, Foreigner. We thought long and hard about coming up with a name that was original and speaks for itself about the music and vibe. I can't tell you have many were shot down for months and gave us some good laughs. We hope you like the tunes as much as we were passionate about making them. Horns Up! \m/(><)\m/ Jonas & Neil http://www.facebook.com/bleedthehunger http://bleedthehunger.com Enquiries: bleedthehunger@gmail.com info@bleedthehunger.com Jonas Hornqvist started playing the guitar 1983 at the age of 12, inspired by guitar players like Ace Frehley, Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Gary Moore. A year after Jonas started playing guitar, Jonas put his first band together and played live at some schools and even some backyard partys. Songs in the setlist included only KISS songs. Summer of 1985 changed Jonas playing totally when he heard Yngwie J Malmsteen for the first time. Jonas also discovered jazz/rock guitar player Al Di Meola that summer. This lead to an almost obsessive guitar practicing period since Jonas wanted to take his guitar playing to a higher level. In 1987, Jonas was in the biggest rock band competition ever held in Sweden, playing live in front of 2500 people with his band Calilio. A year later his band signed a record deal which resulted in a single (Lips/I remember you) that sold well over all of Europe. By the end of 1991, Jonas dissolved his band and started to work on more progressive songs, during 1991 Jonas also recorded a 8 song instrumental demo which sold almost 2000 copies world wide. In 1993 Jonas put together the band he still have today, Treasure Land. In April 1996 Treasure Land signed a world wide record deal with German label Modern Music. Two cd’s later (”Questions” released 1997 and ”Gateway” released 1998) Treasure Land parted ways with the label. Treasure Land also participated in two tribute cd’s: Power from the north – Sweden rocks the world 1999 A guitar odyssey – A tribute to Yngwie J Malmsteen 2000. Treasure Land is currently writing songs for a 3rd CD after some years of doing other music stuff. Jonas have also written 2 books about ”Guitar technique” written for the Swedish market. The first book "Solo techniques for electric guitar" will be released in Sep 2008 on Scandinavias biggest music publishers. There will also be instructional dvd’s. Jonas is currently teaching 35-40 students a week, both privately and online. At the moment, Jonas have students from USA, Italy, France, Germany, Denmark, Canada and Sweden. Neil Turbin Original Screamin Demon Of Thrash and lead singer of DeathRiders, the fast and furious California metallers featuring Neil Turbin the first powerhouse vocalist of Thrash Metal. Neil is the first Thrash Metal screamer and original lead singer of east coast thrash pioneers Anthrax from September 1982 to August of 1984. DeathRiders has toured in Europe, Japan, Mexico and the United States and will unleash their debut album "The Metal Beast" after recording, mixing and mastering have been completed. The band takes it name "DeathRiders" from one of Turbin's original songs and was formed in 2001 in support of his solo album "Threatcon Delta". Neil Turbin was the first permanent and original vocalist of Anthrax and helped pioneer Thrash Metal on their groundbreaking debut album Fistful of Metal and US Attack Tour ’84 with (NWOBHM band) Raven and Metallica. Turbin was a key songwriter and major contributor writing all the lyrics and providing the main concepts to such well known metal anthems such as "Metal Thrashing Mad", "Armed and Dangerous", "Deathrider" and "Gung Ho" which were featured on Anthrax's first three releases as well as many subsequent live and greatest hits albums. Anthrax rose to #8 on the British charts with the release of Fistful of Metal. Neil Turbin's vocals and song "Metal Thrashing Mad" is featured in the "Brutal Legend" soundtrack and his song is also featured on the multi-platinum "The Big 4" CD/DVD. www.deathriders.com bleedthehunger.com is an original hard rock band founded by Jonas Hornqvist and Neil Turbin which is recording songs for their debut release
