Nita is possibly the most amazing guitarist I've had the pleasure of seeing live. This is the 4th time in the last 10 months I've gotten to watch her live, most of the time (like this one) from the rail. Her playing and her smile are PRICELESS. I've been a music fan my entire life (I'm 54) and to over 200 concerts but until Nita, I was never a fan of instrumental music or "solos". Nita changed that for me, at least when I comes to listening to her. Her set is split into 2 halves. The first half is all instrumental songs and then she brings out Kasey, an amazing singer from the band Deadlands. Kasey sings a bunch of songs from Nita's recent album "The Call of the Void" which has guest singers, yet Kasey can sing all of them and their different styles/sounds. It is simply AWESOME!! If you can go to a Nita show, do whatever is necessary and GO!!! I drove 2.5 hours each way to see her for the 2nd time in 10 months. I'd drive all day to see her again. She is AMAZING!!

All four female-fronted bands were a little different but all were great. A local area band Anoxia opened the show. The singer said this was her first time back on stage after an eight-year hiatus. So glad she's back. Diamante was up second. She largely did a big-hair, glittery body suit, 80's-centric set. She looked great, had an awesome voice, and appeared to be an audience favorite. The Starbenders put on a great set. Loved the lead's voice, their new female drummer - for a little lady she sure hammered the hell outta them skins- and the bands' masks. Good sound! Nina quickly proved how fine a guitarist she is with some blazing axe-work! Her band was really tight. A big plus to her show was bringing Kasey Karlsen on stage to belt out Metalcore-flavored, growling vocals to Nina's songs with Nita providing the accompanying shed. Nita had Kasey at last year's show at Lovedraft's Brewery. I've since followed her with her own band Deadlands. I applaud Lovedraft's Brewery's multi-band concert format and really had an enjoyable night of great music!

With old rock stars way past their prime charging hundreds of dollars for not so great seats, it’s really hard to explain how this ticket cost $40. Three opening bands, all really excellent, and then Nita Strauss and her amazing band. Nita’s set list spanned both of her albums. Unlike the past, there were no covers. Her playing is mesmerizing as always. But here’s the thing. She’s having so much fun on stage it’s infectious. I’m grateful for the chance to see her in a small venue. I also did the VIP meet-greet. It’s the only VIP I’ll do. I see them as a waste of money, but not hers. Can’t wait to see them again!

About Nita Strauss

Los Angeles born guitarist Nita Strauss has become a force to be reckoned within the music world, dazzling audiences across the US, UK, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia and Africa. Most fans will recognize Nita as Alice Cooper's touring guitarist of the past 4 years, but she has also played with R&B star Jermaine Jackson, early MTV darlings Femme Fatale, video game supergroup Critical Hit and popular tribute band The Iron Maidens. Her skill, exuberant stage presence and love for all things about her instrument have earned her a stellar reputation in the music industry and endorsements including Ibanez Guitars, Marshall Amplification, DiMarzio pickups, Monster Energy and more.

2018 has been a banner year for Nita. In January she was officially announced as the first ever female Ibanez signature artist with her own model, the Ibanez JIVA. She also released her signature pickups, the DiMarzio Pandemonium. April saw Nita playing WWE Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura's entrance music at Wrestlemania in New Orleans in front of an audience of 78,000 fans and millions streaming worldwide, and in the same month she launched a wildly successful Kickstarter campaign for her debut solo record Controlled Chaos. The campaign reached its goal in two hours, doubled it by the end of the day, tripled the following day and ended up over 800% funded. Nita produced the record herself and did the majority of the engineering, as well as playing all the guitars and bass on the record. After the record was competed, Nita signed with Sumerian Records to release and distribute the album worldwide. After finishing out the Alice Cooper tour cycle, Nita will immediately hit the road supporting Controlled Chaos alongside modern guitar virtuoso Angel Vivaldi.
Nita has been featured on the covers of many worldwide print magazines and on dozens of albums, trailers, and soundtracks, including Heroes Of The Storm (Blizzard) and Grammy-nominated Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (Konami/ Platinum Games); and is the author of the Guitar World column "Like A Hurricane". Nita was also the official in-house guitarist for the LA KISS, the arena football team owned by Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS. She is one of the most sought after clinicians in the industry and has done extensive clinic tours across multiple continents. Her consistent touring schedule has shown her to play in front of over a million audience members per year consistently for the past several years. Nita is also extremely passionate about health and fitness, and uses her wide social media reach to inspire and educate people about maintaining a healthy lifestyle while traveling on tour.
Nita's debut solo album Controlled Chaos is available through Sumerian Records.
