About Kalendr
True House legends are made in Chicago. Several incredible artists have gotten their start in the Windy City and launched themselves into international successes. In 2014 there is a new generation of DJs/Producers already dominating the Chicago scene and ready to follow those legends in taking the world by storm. Out of this handful of artists, there is one who has already become a household name to many and who stands out with his talents for both DJing and producing. His name is Kalendr. Kalendr, the host and producer of Groove Cruise Radio and resident headliner on The Groove Cruise a.k.a. "The Worlds Largest Floating Dance Music Festival.” Kalendr has also held every major residency in Chicago. With 15 years of DJing under his belt at a minimum of 4-6 shows a week, Kalendr is known to be one of hardest working dj’s in the city and has also made a career rocking highly respected venues. Focused every day on music production and already considered a developed artist; Kalendr is determined to take his career to the next level. Originally from Michigan, Kalendr moved to Chicago in 2005 and immediately earned main room responsibilities at world-renowned Crobar & Sound Bar. With his ability to read and properly program such a wide range of rooms, it has presented him with the opportunity to lock down Chicago residencies and play many venues across the globe. His residencies now include Spybar ("Top Ten Dance Clubs" in America by Rolling Stone Magazine), Palladium Castle, The Mid and Studio Paris to name a few. These residencies alone demonstrate the versatility of Kalendr’s skills as a DJ and keep him in constant demand. Besides playing SBE events in L.A., Insomniac events in Las Vegas and headlining in Chicago, Kalendr has also become a go-to for local support when it comes to providing the proper opening act for a big name artist. Kalendr earned his "Art Of Opening" status when he was given the opportunity to set up dance floors across the globe while touring with Bad Boy Bill. Kalendr's versatility as a DJ is reflected in his production as well. Kalendr mixed the official Toolroom Records/Miami Groove Cruise underground compilations and 2014 Miami/LA Groove Cruise Compilation, which are packed with personal edits, bootlegs, and a wide selection of big room and progressive tracks. Producing big room sounds to the underground, Kalendr most recently collaborated with Sydney Blu on their track "Together" that was picked up by Black Hole Records. Kalendr’s original track, "We Unite" was signed to Darude's (Sandstorm) label Enmass Music. In 2013 Kalendr collaborated with the E.C. Twins and Koko LaRoo on the Groove Cruise anthem "Set the World on Fire," which hit the Beatport Charts and was in rotation on XM Radio. He also did the official remix for Dave Aude, Akon and Luciana's "Electricity & Drums" and a remix for JQA featuring Senadee's "Attention" for Manufactured Superstars label Manufactured Music. His own original track and collaboration with Inphinity, "Lost in the City" featuring vocals by Tamra Keenan was signed to Thrive and Island Def Jam, with a remix by Audiobot of LMFAO. Recently, Kalendr & Inphinity formed Shytone, an underground house alias to get the deeper side of their production out to the world. Shytone already completed an official remix for Jonas Temple & David Garcia "It's Just The Beginning" that was selected for the Moody 2014 Coachella compilation. They also signed three originals, "Let Go" was selected for Moody Miami, "You" and "Hey Alright” we’re selected for Moody Ibiza.
