The ins and outs of creating music can be trying. Each vision pushing to find its place amongst the others. Constant struggle with fragmented results. But then things fall into place... Having experimented with various arrangements, in late 2011 Jakkals settled as a three-piece comprised of drummer, Tim King, bassist Mark De Menezes and singer/guitarist, James Boonzaier. Their first single, 'Woah! Nelly', found popular (albeit underground) acclaim and with their refreshed energy, renewed passion and ever-evolving sound, this trio is pegged as a band to watch in 2013. Jakkals is beats that tap your feet, bass that nods your head, and silence that washes you in anticipation. It's melody that flutters the heart and crescendos that rouse; husky tones and rhythmic swing.
