About GRRRL
GRRRL is a bespoke electronic music collaboration between independent, revolutionary women artists from around the world, coming together to tell their collective stories of life, conflict, inequality and change through music. GRRRL is directed by Brazil's Laima Leyton (Mixhell/Soulwax) and features an eclectic mix of 8 fierce influential artists from 8 countries. Last Summer the GRRRLs communicated and collaborated online for a month and then physically came together to London for 4 days to create a new body of work. GRRRL previewed to a full capacity VIP audience at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club Bar, toured to Shambala Festival, Greenbelt Festival, Hull Freedom Festival and sold out club shows in London and Manchester. The GRRRL album was recorded at the famous SARM Studios in London and will be released in Spring 2018. GRRRL have been invited to perform at the Closing Ceremony for the Commonwealth Games in Australia which will be followed by a GRRRL tour to Melbourne and Sydney. Plans for GRRRL to perform at UK and International festivals this Summer 2018 are currently in progress.
