Holy Nightmare

It was a mutual friend, Stu’s, last day in Austin, TX. In an empty apartment that only had a glass vase Max Shorey and Jake Peery met and proceeded to drink beer from the glass vase and talk about music and other things. At the time, Max was already in the process of recording an EP with a DIY approach, attempting to be his own band and his own engineer. Luckily on that night Jake passed the glass vase beer test and became the first member of Holy Nightmare! and proved to be an invaluable addition to the working EP, contributing all the bass, some guitar gear and another set of ears. As recording proceeded, the new duo was searching for the rest of band. Jerome Chwalek an important acquaintance of Max’s was reaching the end of the road with his band at the time, Inch of Dark, of which he was a hard rocking frontman. On another night involving beer and mutual friends (but sadly no glass vase) Jerome decided to give drumming a shot. While he didn’t showed up to practice with quit as much confidence to tackle a new instrument as he did a few beers deep, he nonetheless ended up being a perfect fit, very quickly sounding like a seasoned drummer. After a year of struggling to find the right guitarist, the final member, Phillip McCarthy, the lone Austin native, entered the picture after posting a Craigslist ad that you could not resist. After his first practice, it was instantly clear the ensemble was complete. Holy Nightmare! is now busy writing new music and playing shows around the Austin area.
