About GRAND BAIN

GRAND BAIN are an electronic rock duo from Paris, France whose music is “beautiful, at times wonderfully calming and at others deeply intense, like an ocean in a dream” (From The Inside). Founded in Paris in 2013, and based out of Los Angeles, the group - comprised of American singer/songwriter Erica von Trapp and French multi-instrumentalist/producer Jules de Gasperis - combines dreamy pop vocals, pulsing rhythms, effected guitars, and melancholic synthesizers in a sound that “reminds of MS MR and CHVRCHES, yet updated, edgy and contemporary.” (IndieBeatMusic). The two originally met when de Gasperis asked von Trapp to join a New Wave project he was working on in Paris. Upon the group’s breakup they started GRAND BAIN to continue making music together (the name “Grand Bain” translates to “deep end” in French, and was born mid-lap swimming in one of Paris’s municipal pools.) GRAND BAIN’s debut EP No Country was recorded in studio in Paris and the south of France, and is a profound exploration of human sadness, spirituality, and self-reflection. After touring France, Berlin, and New York, the duo relocated to Los Angeles in 2016 where they recorded the music video for their 2-track single “The French Diaries”. The band is currently touring the West Coast and recording their debut LP in their Los Angeles studio. GRAND BAIN | Melancholy indie rock from Paris, FR.
