About Daemon Pyre

Daemon Pyre: "Daemon Pyre" (Self Titled) New Justice Records / MGM - Released digitally on 30 January, 2015 "That’s actually one of the things I like most about this album, each track is an entity unto its own, but the album as a whole has a very distinct, post-apocalyptic vibe going for it. It builds and builds until it becomes a mansion of deranged, yet perfectly constructed carnage." - Metalobsession.net, February 2015 "Above all, what makes Daemon Pyre so enjoyable is that unlike many recent death metal albums, it actually has feeling – even if that feeling is one of death, destruction and despair." - Metalobsession.net, February 2015 "Daemon Pyre rise from the ashes of As Silence Breaks and explore the range of death metal on this debut album. It’s a dynamic and successful rebirth for the band - 85/100" - killyourstereo.com, January, 2015 “An intriguing metal record that initially blends engaging grooves with death, demonic tones, but slowly adds new ingredients to the mix” - Australian Guitar Magazine, January, 2015 "a heavier outlook from the Sydney band has spawned a debut of deliciously riff-heavy death metal - 4/5" - BLUNT Magazine, March, 2015 "Daemon Pyre’s self-titled is a solid-as-hell landmark on the three-way (lol) intersection of black, death, and core streets. You can windmill to the blastbeats and then show horns during the simple verse riffage and still have time to facemelt when things get dark. Also give these dudes a thumbs-up cause it’s their first album!" - Metalsucks.net, February 2015 "With faultless production, killer musicianship and nuanced songs, Daemon Pyre has made a fantastic album of ferocious old-school melodic death metal that everyone should own - 98%" - loudmag.com.au, March, 2015 ONWARD THEY MARCH, THE DAEMONS RISE Established in 2014, Sydney’s Daemon Pyre, set out with a singular vision; to bring world class musical and artistic entertainment to heavy music fans, coupled with challenging subject matter that would encourage freedom of speech and bring rational discourse to the global Death Metal arena. Death Metal with a conscience, you might say. Thanks to regular touring with a diverse collective of heavy music artists, highly favourable reviews of their January 2015 debut album, and a live show that Heavy Mag referred to as “A dominant force, overly polite and humble, but excelling as one of Sydney’s best melodic death bands”, Daemon Pyre have swiftly risen to become an easily recognisable name across the Australian Heavy Music landscape and an in-demand live act. In less than two years, Daemon Pyre have completed multiple tours of Australia, performed on a number of Australian Mini Festivals, headlined a tour of Indonesia that took them across West and Central Java, and been invited to share the stage with some of the worlds best, including international heroes like The Haunted (SWE), Insomnium (FIN), Goatwhore (USA) and Australian touring elites like Psycroptic, King Parrot, Ne Obliviscaris, Truth Corroded, Hadal Maw, Orpheus Omega, Hand of Mercy, I Exalt, and a legion of other fantastic local acts. As 2016 forges on, Daemon Pyre are set to release 2 new singles, showcasing their caustic brutality juxtaposed against wrenching melodies in a way that will entice the broadest heavy music tastes. Teaming with Lachlan Mitchell (The Amenta, Nazxul, Henry’s Anger, The Jezebels) and Shane Edwards (Northlane, Thy Art Is Murder, Hellions, Pete Doherty), as well as featuring blast wizard, Kevin Talley of Suffocation on drums, these new singles will herald the Daemon Pyre sound as they work towards completion of their sophomore release. With plenty of touring set from June, 2016, and the video clip for “Misanthropic Parallels airing nationally on ABC’s, RAGE, the band will, no doubt, continue to excite Metal audiences with their brazen live shows and engaging brand of Euro-inspired Death Metal.
