About Dreamboy

Dreamboy is one of two artists:

1). Dreamboy has always been about three things: melodies, harmonies and energy. They are now ready to release their first full-length album “It Means The World To Me” in Sweden on October 17th and a release date will soon be set for Japan. As this is written, the first single “What Have I Done” is being played heavily by national radio P3, college radio and alternative web radio stations.

Starting out in 2001, what became the band’s first demo was originally recorded as a friend’s final project for engineering school. The songs soon caught the attention of music producers and record label executives. Four new recordings were made and a proper EP was born. National radio P3, college radio and MTV Nordic all picked up the two singles from the EP. The critics were thrilled about this "punk version of the Beach Boys", focusing on the strength of their song writing, their vocal arrangements, and their by now well-established reputation for being an explosive live act. The EP was followed by a single and more touring, and after playing their first big festival in Sweden, critics wrote that Dreamboy’s 30 minutes on stage was “magic...the best act of the whole festival”.

The very same day the band created a MySpace profile and uploaded some songs, three different Japanese record labels contacted the band and a few months later a maxi-EP was released in Japan with great success.

The band continues writing and performing as they always have, with sincerity, intensity and a commitment to creating the music they love. And it’s still all about melodies, harmonies and energy.

2.) Dreamboy was a mid-'80s R&B/funk band signed to Quincy Jones' Qwest Records distributed by Warner Bros. Its lineup was singer Jeff Stanton, guitarist Jeff Bass, keyboardist Jimi Hunt, and bassist and drummer George "Dewey" Twymon. The group was started at Oak Park, MI's Oak Park High School. Their sole hit was the ballad "Don't Go," which hit number 17 R&B on Billboard's R&B chart in early 1984. Its follow-up was another ballad, "I Promise (I Do Love You)," which made it to number 45 R&B in fall 1984. Their sole album, Contact, would also see a release that year.
